Your banking and finance studies will prepare you for a career as a banking and finance professional, while your business majors will give you additional skills to pursue expert roles in that industry, or give you the skills to work across industries.

In a double degree, some core units may appear in both courses. Where the same core units are required in both components of the double degree, you must complete other units in their place. You may replace up to six overlapping units. These units may be chosen from:

Business
B2000 Bachelor of Business is a comprehensive course, structured in four parts. In this double degree course you complete:
Part A. Core studies
These studies will provide you with a broad foundation for your study of business and expose you to several business disciplines. It will contribute breadth to your knowledge of business and develop your understanding of multi-disciplinary decision making in organisations. It will also give you the opportunity to learn more about each discipline before finalising your choice of major.
Part B. Major studies
Your major studies will provide you with a focused program of study that will develop your expertise. You will develop, apply and communicate an advanced level of understanding of the concepts and theoretical frameworks that constitute the knowledge base of your major area of study.
Part C. Capstone studies
This is designed to consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the study of your major.
Banking and Finance
B2042 Bachelor of Banking and Finance is a specialist course structured in four parts: Part A. Core studies, Part B. Discipline studies, Part C. Capstone studies, and Part D. Elective studies. In this double degree course you complete:
Part A. Core studies
These studies will provide you with a study of banking and finance disciplines and the impact they have on decision making in organisations.
Part B. Discipline studies
These studies will develop your capacity as a critical and creative professional who is able to apply knowledge of banking and finance to provide discipline-based solutions for business. Units contained within the discipline may meet the requirements for professional accreditation bodies.
Part C. Capstone studies
The capstone unit will consolidate your knowledge and skills acquired through the study of your course and provide experience in multi-disciplinary processes and decision making.

You must complete 192 credit points, of which 96 credit points are from the Bachelor of Business (including all the requirements in Part A, B and C for the single degree) and 96 credit points are from the Bachelor of Banking and Finance (including all of the requirements in Part A, B and C for the single degree).
In this double degree you may complete an additional major within the Bachelor of Business. Some majors and minors include the same units. Where this occurs, up to 12 credit points may be shared between:
- two majors; or
- a major and a minor.

VET Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma graduates:
Applicants will require a minimum 60% average to be considered for selection. Preference will be given to applicants whose prior studies are related to the course. Programs that involve competency-based assessment without grades or marks will not be sufficient to meet admission requirements.

Diploma of Business Part 2 average: 60%
Monash University Foundation Year average: 70%
Higher education studies:
Applicants will require a minimum 60% average to be considered for selection. Preference will be given to applicants whose prior studies are related to the course. A minimum of two single units must be completed in order to meet minimum admission requirements.

Monash Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test
