All applicants must satisfy the equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites.VET Certificate IV, diploma or advanced diploma graduates: To be considered, applicants will normally require at least 60% average. Preference will be given to students whose prior studies are related to the course in which they are seeking admission. Programs that involve competency-based assessment without grades or marks will not meet the admission requirements.University: Two single units at an Australian higher education institution satisfy minimum entry requirements, but more units may be useful for selection, especially in areas of study related to the course in which admission is being sought.

Monash Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test

The Bachelor of Fine Art will educate you in all aspects of contemporary creative visual practices to enable you to build a high level of expertise in Fine art. You will engage directly with professional artists, as well as with practitioners from allied creative fields including art history and theory, curatorial, design and architecture. Fine art will prepare you for a career as a contemporary professional artist and provide you with transferable creative, critical and problem-solving skills that open pathways across creative industries, cultural sectors and broader professional fields. You can take an interdisciplinary approach and explore a range of studio methods, material processes, and techniques across drawing, ceramics, glass, jewellery, painting, photography (digital and analogue), printmaking, sculpture and installation, sound and video, as well as digital fabrication technologies. Or you can practice and focus on a single medium. Studio practice is complemented by an understanding of critical contexts through art history and theory and an introduction to Indigenous Australian creative practice and ways of knowing ensuring conceptual and contextual learning is continually integrated into creative practice.

The Bachelor of Information Technology is the most flexible way to study IT at Monash. It gives you a broad foundation in contemporary information technology, while allowing you to shape the degree around your interests, strengths and career goals. You can explore different areas of IT before choosing a major, or enter the course with a clear direction and build a focused pathway from the beginning. You will be able to select from majors drawn from Monash IT’s specialist course areas, alongside additional majors in emerging and applied areas of technology. This means you can build depth in a recognised field while retaining the flexibility to combine interests, or create a distinctive profile across multiple areas of IT.

In this course you will study fine art as part of a double degree with information technology and be part of the changing way we communicate and experience culture in the digital domain.
