The Master of Business is structured in four parts: Part A. Advanced preparatory studies, Part B. Core studies, Part C. Specialist studies and Part D. Elective studies.
Part A. Advanced preparatory studies
These studies will introduce you to core business disciplines and the impact they have within organisations. The units cover various disciplines and further your understanding of complex business environments.
Part B. Core studies
The focus of these studies is to further develop your knowledge and skills as a critical and creative professional who can apply your understanding of business practices to address contemporary organisational and global challenges.
Part C. Specialist studies
The focus of these studies is to develop your specialist expertise in a business discipline and provide the research skills or knowledge needed either to undertake independent research or for the capacity to work and communicate across the borders of discipline, context or culture.
Part D. Elective studies
The focus of these studies is professional or scholarly work that can contribute to a portfolio of professional development.
Master's entry points
Depending on prior qualifications you may receive entry level credit (a form of block credit) which determines your point of entry to the course:
- If you are admitted at entry level 2 with non-cognate qualifications and/or experience, you will complete 72 credit points, comprising Part A, Part B and Part C.
- If you are admitted at entry level 2 with cognate qualifications and/or experience, you will complete 72 credit points, comprising Part B, Part C and Part D.
- If you are admitted at entry level 3 you will complete 48 credit points, comprising Part B and Part C.
Note: If you are eligible for credit for prior studies you may elect not to receive the credit and complete one of the higher credit-point options.
