Overview

This specialisation will prepare you to teach children and adolescents (5 – 18 years of age) in primary and secondary schools from Foundation to Year 12. At the primary level (Foundation to Year 6), you will qualify as a generalist primary and a specialist health and physical education primary school teacher. You will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to teach across all primary curriculum areas, as well as how to employ pedagogical approaches to support the diverse learning needs of children in contemporary classrooms. In addition, you will select to complete extended studies in either English/literacy or mathematics/numeracy. At the secondary level Year 7 to Year 12, you will qualify as a secondary school teacher with health and physical education as your specialist teaching areas.

EDF3083 provides the required 10 days of professional experience to meet course requirements, plus an additional 5 days of professional experience in a secondary setting, totalling 15 days of placement. You are advised to independently check AITSL skill assessment requirements.
