Double degree courses include the features of the component degree courses, except that electives may be reduced.

Commerce

B2001 Bachelor of Commerce is a comprehensive course, structured in four parts. In this double degree course you complete:

Part A. Core studies

This will provide you with a broad foundation for your study of commerce and expose you to several commerce disciplines. This will contribute breadth to your knowledge of commerce and address the graduate course outcomes. It will also give you the opportunity to learn more about each discipline before finalising your choice of major.

Part B. Major studies

This will provide you with a focused program of study that will develop your expertise in one discipline area. You will develop, apply and communicate an advanced level of understanding of the concepts and theoretical frameworks that constitute the knowledge base of your major area of study.

Part C. Capstone studies

This is designed to consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the study of your course.

Arts

A2000 Bachelor of Arts is a comprehensive course, structured in three equal parts. In this double degree course you complete:

Part A. Major studies

This will provide you with a focused program of study that will develop your practical and theoretical skills and knowledge in one Faculty of Arts listed major area of study. You will learn to critically analyse, apply and communicate an advanced level of understanding of the concepts and theoretical frameworks that constitute the knowledge base of the area of study.

Part B. Specified studies
These units provide you with high quality, in-class student experiences that support a broader sense of belonging within and across the Bachelor of Arts. Through these studies you will develop:

• graduate attributes in a broad base of knowledge of the humanities, social sciences and creative arts and industries;

• a global perspective in the application of that knowledge, especially focused on social, cultural and political change; and

• interdisciplinary teamwork, digital and communication upskilling focused on sharpening skills for future workplaces and global leadership.
  

Course progression map

The course progression map provides guidance on unit enrolment for each semester of study.

You must complete 192 credit points of which 96 credit points are from the Bachelor of Commerce (including all of the requirements in Part A, Part B and Part C for the single degree) and 96 credit points from the Bachelor of Arts (including all of the requirements in Part A and Part B for the single degree).

In this double degree, you will complete one major in the Bachelor of Commerce (B2001) and one major in the Bachelor of Arts (A2000). Where you have space in your degree you may complete an additional major. Some majors, minors and specialisations include the same units. Where this occurs, up to 12 credit points may be shared between:

• two majors; or

• a major and a minor; or

• a specialisation and a major or minor.

Note: Units can only count toward one minor. They cannot be shared across multiple minors. 

Units are 6 credit points unless otherwise specified.

Commerce component (96 credit points)

You must complete 96 credit points, including all of the requirements in Parts A, Part B and Part C, for the Bachelor of Commerce.

Note: If you are completing the Accounting major as part of this double degree, please note ECX2953 is required for professional accreditation. You can complete ECX2953 in Part A instead of ECC1000, and you will not be required to complete ECC1100. 

Arts component (96 credit points)

You must complete 96 credit points, including all of the requirements in Part A and Part B, for the Bachelor of Arts. You must complete no more than 36 credit points of level one Arts units and at least 36 credit points at level 3 of which at least 24 credit points must be Arts units.
