Overview

Our world needs graduates who thrive in an era of uncertainty and change. In the Monash Bachelor of Arts you will cultivate your intellect, foster your passions and develop your capacity to ask the questions and find the solutions required to transform our world.

The Monash Bachelor of Arts is designed to give you maximum flexibility and choice. You can choose from over thirty areas of study to build a genuinely transformative experience. The course is built around deeply enriching experiences, including local and international internships, professional engagements and entrepreneurial opportunities, and the choice of over fifty global immersion programs. You will build a unique graduate profile, preparing you to live and work in complex and culturally diverse environments. You may like to continue on in your learning journey and complete honours or postgraduate study.

The Bachelor of Arts has four Professional Futures domains which build skills and abilities that employers value and seek. You will not be required to do any single specific unit across these domains. Instead, you can build your own suite of experiences and attributes to create a graduate profile that is unique to you:

Global Immersion

Broaden your knowledge and life experience by participating in the Global Immersion Guarantee or one of our other short study trips or a semester-long programs. Our high quality international mobility experiences help our graduates to engage in the world and prepare them for the global workplace.

Intercultural Expertise

Build skills to thrive in globalised work places and communities. The reality for all our graduates is that they are competing in a global employment market and whether they find themselves in local, national or international organisations these will all be multi-cultural environments. The capacity to successfully navigate the complexities of culturally different environments is a signature capability of an Arts graduate. These units are designed to specifically address the development of our students’ capabilities.

Professional Experience

Through industry internships and placements, create networks and skills for your career development. Professional experiences allow you to start activating your knowledge in real world scenarios. It aids you to see your learning in an employment context.

Innovation Capability

Cultivate an innovation mindset as you develop your creative and enterprising abilities. These units offer you the opportunity to understand and build innovation capabilities and enterprising skills. You are challenged to seek/build the solutions required to transform our world by leveraging your own experiences and activities outside the classroom.
